RAL colours
The RAL Classic chart has 213 shades. Search by code or name, pick a shade and send it with your enquiry.
How to read a RAL code
A RAL Classic code has four digits. The first digit says which group the shade belongs to — 1 is yellows and beiges, 2 oranges, 3 reds, 4 violets, 5 blues, 6 greens, 7 greys, 8 browns, and 9 whites and blacks. The remaining three digits are a serial number within the group and mean nothing on their own.
Gloss and texture
The same shade can be produced in different gloss levels — from matt through semi-gloss to high gloss. Alongside smooth powders there are textured ones that give a rough surface; they hide small imperfections in the substrate better and are easier to keep clean on equipment that is handled often.
Why a screen is not authoritative
The shades shown are approximate. RAL is a physical standard — it is defined by a sample, not by a number on a screen. The colour on your monitor depends on the screen itself, how it is set up and the light in the room, and fluorescent shades (RAL 1026, 2005, 2007, 3024, 3026 and 6038) cannot be shown on a screen at all. Before a final decision always compare against a RAL fan deck or ask for a sample.
